Recent Studio Recordings

Here are some recordings that I made recently in my studio.  The songs were recorded live with minimal post-processing.

Live

The live recordings go are the live stereo mix from my Mackie 808s PA.  The shows currently have 1 to 3 players - everything goes through the PA to a live mix, which I record from the stereo out of the board.  Post production includes cropping, EQ and compression.  There are no overdubs.

Studio

Here are some recordings done in my home studio.  The general approach has been minimalist with no overdubbing.  As you can see from our live recordings, this is really what we sound like live.

Solo

Here are a few demo songs in MP3 format.  I recorded them in single takes using three mics with no overdubs and minimal post production.

With Jon Stone

Here are some tracks with Jon Stone on bass and backing vocals.  Jon and I do duo shows together.  These were recorded in my home studio in a single take - 4 channels direct to stereo.  I added some reverb and compression and snipped the ends of the tracks in post production.  I did no further editing.  Essentially, these are live tracks - I even used my PA as the recording mixer.
